About Me

SCREENWRITER | PRODUCER | DIRECTOR

Walt Thompson is a screenwriter who found his passion through a unique blend of experiences. His journey began in the world of syndicated television at Warner Bros., where he gained invaluable industry knowledge. This foundation led him to independent projects, collaborating with others and developing his own film concepts, ultimately fueling his desire to become a writer.

Walt’s drive is deeply rooted in his personal life. He credits his father and mother, the inspiring legacy of Frederick Douglass, and the unwavering support of his family – Michelle, Trey, and Chase – as the driving forces behind his pursuit of his dreams. Even as a child, Walt displayed an early inclination for storytelling, producing plays with his classmates, unknowingly foreshadowing his future career.

Music serves as a constant source of inspiration for Walt’s writing, igniting his creativity and shaping his narratives. He also acknowledges the impact of his high school senior composition teacher, Nancy Scott. Though their relationship was challenging, with Ms. Scott initially pushing Walt harder than other students and ultimately failing him, her demanding approach inadvertently fueled his determination to succeed.

Walt’s path to screenwriting is a testament to the power of diverse experiences, personal connections, and an unwavering commitment to his craft.
